We're Crashing Into the Ground as All Fall From Grace...

Things are different. Time goes by. This is the future, when humans no longer exist. A few things remain of their empire, scattered few and far between, memories of times long lost. Humans, along with many other species, disappeared from the face of the earth, without a trace, without a reason, without explanation. Gone.

So I Will Go On Until the End...

So the world carried on, perhaps not as before, but as best as it could, which was probably much better than it could manage previously. The animals that were left flourishes, among those the horses. They set up herds, lived, survived. Eventually they began to dispute among themselves, some believing in the greater good, some only in personal gain, the rest being indecisive, and the alliances were created; Light, Dark, and Neutral.

Dark Times and Shadows Cast...

The two opposing sides warred with each other for many generations, until eventually the Neutrals decided to make a stand. They proposed that neither would win, but neither would loose; Both would be equal, an there would be peace. There would be a King, of the Neutrals, who would rule over and keep the peace and equality between the two alliances, while the court, or Royal herd, would be made up of both Lights and Darks, as well as Neutrals. Each alliance could have its own lands, so long as they didn't fight, and there would be the free lands, where those of each alliance could go without restrictions, and battlegrounds, where personal fights could be sorted without involving armies, so keeping casualties to a minimum. Law-breakers would be cast out, any station and herd stripped, to fend for themselves in Ingenting. In short everything was carefully controlled, maintaining the peace in the only way they know how. And the armies agreed, grudgingly, partly because both sides were tired of fighting and partly because the Neutrals outnumbered both armies combined. The plan even worked, for a time.

Stand Out on the Edge of the Earth...

In recent times, however, another group has risen. Outside the Herdlands, a small group of the Outlaws had set up camp. This in itself was not uncommon, there were several Outlaw herds in the Outlands already. Except that these were different. They were structured, disciplined, controlled, total opposite to the Outlaw rabble. They were few, but each was good, the elite at what they did. And that was against the very law that they chose to disregard. They called themselves "The Guild."

This is the Call to Rise...

Their numbers grew, but slowly, as only the best were allowed to join, no half-wits and wimps admitted. Their exact plan is uncertain, but their draw undeniable. Even their location is disputable, as every time the Neutral King sent out parties to find their headquarters, the parties came back empty handed. They were a threat, of that they were certain, but a threat to exactly what nobody knew. Except perhaps the Guild leader, but he, or she, remains yet even more elusive than the Guilds location.

There's No Truth, Everyone's Misguided...

A little closer to home perhaps, things are also slipping. The Neutral numbers have been slowly declining now that there is again peace, and many of their number are no longer quite so Neutral as they once were.
